Friend
of the Day - May He Rest In Peace
Bob Smith, owner and operator of
Bob's Steakhouse and Lounge/Bob's Resort of Gettysburg, South Dakota
passed away on June 08, 2005.
Because
of his love of the river and hunting and fishing, he built a bait shop
on the east side of the US 212 Bridge. The operation grew and is now
known as Bob’s Resort.
While
growing up in Gettysburg, I relished the days I could go out to the
river and eat at Bob's. He had the best steak in the country, perfectly
prepared and always a value. Bob was good friends with my boss, Jim
Cameron, and I can't tell you how many nights I'd sit and listen to
them talk about everything under the sun.
If
you're passing through Gettysburg, continue on Hiway 212 for 17 miles
until you get the Missouri River. Stop in and treat yourself. The food
is excellent, the staff is friendly and the view is impeccable. You'll
never regret it.
Thanks
for memories, Bob. May you rest in peace.
